Members of Lucy Addison Class of 1968 twenty-five years later.
What a wonderful evening, we joined other graduates from Lucy Addison Classes 1922-1973. Can you imagine 1993, we were
42-43 years of age. Our journey along life's winding road had taken the 17-19 year old youngsters who
graduated in 1968 on many trips to arrive at this reunion. Some of us traveled rough roads which were full of detours
and others traveled straight and narrow roads. Yet, no matter which road taken, all roads led back to Lucy Addison.
Many of our classmates were leaving their indelible marks in the books of history. Many had traveled throughout
the world enlightening those where ever destiny led them that the class of 1968 was a group which had been
fueled by love and were on a life mission of success.
Sadly enough, we had lost some of our classmates in the War of Viet Nam and yet others through life tragedies.
Yet, those who remained were true examples of all our parents, teachers and members of our community had instilled in us through
their teachings. We were the products of individuals who loved us and were proud of their youth. We had decided
earlier that our generation consisted of outstanding individuals who wanted to give something back
to society by passing what we had learned from those who loved us and through our personal experiences as
we traveled down the road of life to those who follwed us.
We were members of the Baby Boomers Generation. The freedom demanded and received by us was ever present
from the 1960's through the 1970's. Our actions changed the course of history. We challenged the status
quo. We were draftsmen of the blueprints for the new world. The results of which were easily noted
in the fields of economics, politics, education, music, the arts, and social interaction. Our contribution to the world's
changing society was found in Civil Right's movement which reached its pinnacle in the 1960's.
